Math Blaster ages 4-6 (formerly known as Math Blaster Jr.) is a Math Blaster game released by Davidson Associates Inc. on October 30, 1997. It is a prequel to Math Blaster Episode 1: In Search of Spot, and is designed for young children, as the title implies. It teaches math essentials, from counting and distinguishing geometric shapes to the concepts of adding and subtracting. The game features child versions of the three main protagonists from the first game.

Puppet Theatre[]

At the puppet theatre, Glorious Galactica is on her way to her grandmother's house. This is the outer space version of the classic fairy tale "Little Red Riding Hood". Her mission is to take a specific number of golden eggs to her grandmother (a total of 10 eggs for Level 2 or a total of 20 for Level 3). At the beginning of the story, the player can select how many eggs Glorious Galactica can start out with (up to 7 for Level 2 or up to 12 for Level 3). However, she is encountered by good characters, bad characters, and characters that are sometimes good or bad. The good characters --Plutonian Godmother and Fearless Hunter-- help Glorious deliver eggs to her grandmother (that is, by adding eggs to her basket). The bad characters --Martian Wolf and Moon Shark-- hinder Glorious (that is, by taking away eggs from the basket). The remaining two characters --Magician and DJ and Boo-- sometimes help or hinder Glorious (that is, sometimes adding eggs to the basket and sometimes taking away eggs). Players have to answer how many golden eggs she has. In the end, Glorious Galactica can deliver the remaining eggs --all 20 eggs or depending with how many she has left prior to 20-- to her grandmother (if the user clicks on Granny). This means, after meeting her grandmother, Glorious can give her all 20 eggs or the remainder number of eggs she has left (0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, or 19). But it is possible for her to deliver Granny zero eggs if she has zero eggs.

Level 1 only introduces the characters Magician and a timer. The timer has two hands. He holds a plate (in the left hand) and a specific container to contain the number of golden eggs (in the right). So, to play Level 1, the player must answer how many eggs there are in a specific container (and must use the numbers between 1 and 20 as their answers). If they answer a number which is "not enough" or "too many" the crowd says they have "not enough" or "too many" until they get the answer right. After all the eggs are gathered, the Magician sends Glorious Galactica on her way to Granny's house. The possible containers (to gather the eggs) are either a bowl, a sack, a milk bottle, a cookie jar, a cardboard box, or a present box.

Whack the Pesters[]

Planet Countalonia has been invaded by pesters who steal gems and coins. The player helps Blasternaut to whack the pesters who hold gems or the coin with the right amounts which fulfil Blasternaut's request.

Trapezoidia Rocket Factory[]

On planet Trapezoidia, players help Spot to build a rocket by gathering the requested colored or patterned geometric shapes to fill in the blanks on the patterns displayed on the bottom of the screen.

Marble Maze[]

On planet Fractoid, players divert the correct marbles through the maze and into the results table before inputting them in the goal screen (color requests or shape fill) where GC is. In free play mode, players can build their own maze.

Trivia[]

  • This is the only "Blaster Learning System" prequel game --in the original continuity-- out of the 3 --3 (counting this game, Reading Blaster Jr., and Science Blaster Jr.)-- where the Blaster Pals Theme Song cannot be played on the ship radio (accessed in the main menu --served on the Blaster Ship). The four songs (accessed on the song buttons) are instead The Counting Song, Morphelia, Stop, Clap, Snap-Snap, and Are We There Yet?.
